I see how I rate!!

Mike has been gone for the last few days playing in a golf tournament. He arrived home tonight bearing gifts for the girls (see pics below). I mentioned to him that it might have been nice of him to bring ME home say- At least a single flower? He claims that he had every intention to buy me something from a shop that they had passed near the resort where he stayed, but the shop was closed when he left the resort today. Well, if I do believe him then I guess it was the thought that counted. I told him that I thought he missed the girls more than me. He said, "You just wait until we have a child." So, I guess it will be child-#1, girl dogs-#2 and Mommy- last place in the race!! This comes from a man who used to make sure that I had fresh flowers at all times, wrote poems for me and put together gift baskets filled with stuff that he knew I would love. He came up with all of those things all on his own. Please tell me what has happened here??

By the way, when he called to tell me that he was on his way home I asked what he might like for dinner. When he arrived home, I was finishing up the fettucine alfredo (made from scratch) topped with fresh sauteed shrimp and hot crusty french loaf bread. What is wrong with that picture? (Disclaimer: Even though this is words of truth, I'm not actually mad:) I mean he is building me a new house after all.)

Yup, that's pretty much how it goes! The same with parents. After you have kids they don't care at all about seeing you- they just want to get their hands on the grandkids! I guess that's kind of how it should be though.

I was thinking the same thing as Cheri. Parents do the same thing - they want you to come over and then you find out it's just to see the grandkids!
Your supper sounds delicious - if only I were closer!!! Yummy!

I am laughing over here because it's so true. I used to get flowers all the time, then it was a dozen roses with each child. I said I can't keep having kids to get flowers! I occasionally get a bouquet, but like you I'm fine with that. They show their love in different ways!

Heeee- well let it be said that a man who loves his dogs is a GOOD MAN! Sadly though when Avery comes along you are going to have to take a very backstage - you will get used to being number NOT one!

The first thing anyone is EVER going to say (me included) is where's the baby!

nice photos! reminds me the saying... One reason a dog can be such a comfort when you're feeling blue is that he doesn't try to find out why.... care to ex-change links?

BOY...when you catch up on commenting, you SURE do! WOWSERS! You know I'd be all over coming out there, so any hook ups you can help with would be ROCKIN'! Gavin is gone the first Monday-Wednesday of February, so I'm home with the girls for a couple days! When I told him, "Hmm...maybe I'll just have to go on a lil' vacation myself someday", he just smiled...OH YEAH!!!!! Hope your house is AWESOME!!!! How fun!
